Are they disabled ? Think about what “disability” really means. Take care with how you ask people to declare a disability. Get as much information as you can before the person’s first session. Be informed about the person’s medical needs. Reassuring the person that you’re not fazed by their additional needs can be a wonderful gift to them Remember not every disability is obvious. Actions speak louder than words. Don’t accept lower standards of behaviour at any time. Check the practicalities. Be creative and have fun.
